Crafty Halloween Ideas
What do owls say when they go trick or treating? Happy Owl-oween
Okay that was really bad... Moving on...
Do you have any petrifying plans for Halloween?
What better way to celebrate this spook-tacular night than by letting your kids unleash their inner artist.
1. HANDPRINT ART
Starting off simple, this craft only requires different colour finger paint and a material of your choice to display the design (e.g. Card or paper).
Using hands your children can create fun pieces of artwork for decoration as well as providing interesting sensory experiences.
These fantastic Frankenstein Handprints were created by Trisha and her family (Momdot.com).
Of course you aren't just restricted to the Frankenstein design you could try:
Knuckle Pumpkins (Early Activities & Projects)
Spider Handprint (Made with happy)
Bat & Ghost Handprints (Free time with the kids)
Witch Handprint (Crafty Morning)
Add some refined details with the Crayola Supertips Washable Markers.
SMOOTH INTENSE COLOUR LAYDOWN
2. VERSATILE TOILET PAPER SPIDER
Have you got a build up of empty toilet rolls?
Why don't you use this cute craft out. The cardboard doubles as a spooky stamp and a 3D Spider!
I found this craft on the Crafty Morning Blog by the 'crafty mom' Michelle'
Want to teach your kids how to use scissors but with child friendly equipment?
Give the I Learn To Use Scissors' kit from SES Creative a look, so they can be more independent for future crafts.
3. WOOL PUMPKIN
A messy one? Most definitely...
Worth it? 100% YES!
This craft requires wool, glue, a balloon plus extras for personalisation (e.g. Pipe cleaners or ribbon for the tendrils, vines and stem).
Check out the tutorial by Debbie on the One Little Project website.
Her tutorial is brilliant, with exact measurements and tips based off her own personal experience.
4. EGG CARTON MONSTERS
Another up-cycled craft, except this one doubles as a tiny treat hider.
Perfect for a halloween treasure hunt!
These extraordinary Egg Monsters were created by Kate on The Craft Train website.
Add some extra details and a bit of shimmer & sparkle with the Crayola Glitter Gel Pens.
5. PAPER PLATE PUPPETS
A craft that kids can play with afterwards!
This craft will not only encourage creative expression but help kids develop their imagination.
Haunted House and Ghost (Bakeross.co.uk)
Wicked Witch and full moon ( I Heart Crafty Things)
Bat and graveyard (Kids Craft Room)

6. SPIDER HEADBAND
Straightforward and affordable... this craft by Dinah on the DIY Inspired website is perfect for Halloween.
Plastic spiders or other desirable add ons (You can buy 300 spiders on Amazon for £4.69!)
Hot glue gun or super glue
7. CHALK ART
Want your house to look wonderfully frightening!
Decorate the surrounding pavement or drive outside your house with some spellbinding designs.
My favourite idea is the Halloween Obstacle course.
This idea is featured on the Laly Mom website.
Fun for both your own kids and other Trick or Treaters.
At The Toy Kings we sell 3 different products which would be perfect for these designs.
